Today I took the bus out to Mendenhall Glacier. I didn't take my camera yesterday because I was afraid it would get damaged while I was on the zipline (from the harness, it was right over my pockets) or by the rain. The bus driver said that yesterday's storm was one of the worst he's ever seen. The weather is much better today, cloudy and cool but at least it was dry. I did 3.5 miles through the mountain behind the visitors center. It was just gorgeous! Absolutely breathtaking!. It was a workout, though! One mile uphill equals three flat miles! I'm one of the lucky few that got to see it, though. I would guess that less than 1 percent of all of the people who visit Mendenhall Glacier hike that trail. I came back to town and did some shopping. I found this really charming book of Fairy Tales in a used bookstore. I came back to the hotel and I'm getting some rest before I board the ship in an hour. The ship I'm on is less than a tenth the size of one of the big cruise ships that are parked at the pier. --------------- I boarded the cruise ship this afternoon. At dinner the food was excellent!!! But I'm already missing my Hottie SO MUCH!!! After dinner I sat on the aft deck for a while and watched the mountains. It's so amazingly beautiful here! I love my cabin! The cruise wasn't fully booked so they upgraded me and my cabin is much larger than I expected. I have plenty of room and it's very, very comfortable!
