Crawling back under my rock... | auroraborealis's Blog

Well, it was nice coming up for air, but I'm going to go crawl back under my rock and hide from the world for a while. I feel like a complete and total failure, I feel like a total loser, I feel totally worthless and I just can't stand daylight right now. I'm happier when I'm off by myself. But I think love stories are out of the question for a year or so. You know you're in trouble when "The Prince" is more uplifting than a love story--and "The Prince" is next up. After "The Prince" I'm finally going to tackle "The Canterbury Tales." A few weeks ago I read a wonderful biography of Chaucer's sister-in-law Katherine Swynford and it has renewed my interest. After that I've got "The Fountainhead." After that, I've got this book on number theory that's sitting on my bookshelf, that's a possibility. Or maybe I'll disappear for a couple of years and finally finish "Godel, Escher, Bach." I've had that book for over 20 years and I've never gotten through the first chapter. I've got a stack of summer reading and none of it will stir up any unwanted memories. Hopefully by the time I finish my stack these feelings that are causing me so much pain will have subsided and I will be able to get back to some semblance of my old self. Well, I'm off to meet "The Prince"... This Blog Entry's Comment Board (1 comment)
